<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact emergency luminaire that ensures the lighting performance in an emergency and is always capable of lighting. <P>SOLUTION: The emergency luminaire comprises a light-emitting diode 7; a battery 10; a charging circuit 18 for charging the battery by an external power supply in daily use; a power failure detection circuit 17 for detecting the power failure of the external power supply; an emergency lighting circuit 20 for lighting the light-emitting diode at a prescribed lighting level by power supplied from the battery, when the power failure detection circuit detects power failure; and a lighting circuit 19 in regular use, for lighting the light-emitting diode at a lighting level that is lower than that lit by the emergency lighting circuit by the power supplied from the external power supply in regular use. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
