PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a cyclic olefin ring-opening copolymer hydrogenate which is excellent in transparency and heat resistance, has a high refractive index, exhibits high adhesion to other materials, and is easily post-processed and highly soluble in general-purpose solvents. SOLUTION: A cyclic olefin ring-opening copolymer obtained by copolymerizing a cyclic olefin monomer represented by formula (1) with a cyclic olefin monomer having a structure different from formula (1) is hydrogenated.
