METHOD FOR CONTROLLING HATCH OF EGG OF APPLE SNAIL (POMACEA CANALICULATA)

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling the hatch of eggs of apple snails (Pomacea canaliculata) by which apple snails can be safely controlled and to provide a chemical used therefor. SOLUTION: The method for controlling the hatch of eggs of apple snails (Pomacea canaliculate) comprises directly spraying on their spawn a solvent-based chemical obtained by the condensation of ethylene oxide with ammonia to cover the spawn with the chemical to plug the pores of the individual eggs in the spawn to suffocate them. The chemical is morphine (C4H9NO) obtained by the condensation of ethylene oxide with ammonia. The morphine is present in a weight ratio of 60 to 80% and is mixed with behenyl alcohol in a weight ratio of 5% and distilled water in a weight ratio of 15 to 35%. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
