<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the torque transmission characteristic and durability of the electromagnetic friction clutch in a driving force transmission device. <P>SOLUTION: As an inner clutch plate 14a, a nitrogen compound layer is formed on the surface of a base material made of iron and by employing a multiple layer structured clutch plate having an oxide film on the surface side of the nitrogen compound layer, torque transmission characteristic is prevented from lowering by suppressing the change of the friction engaging surfaces of clutch plates 14a and 14b into a mirror surface by dint of synergistic effect of corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and fatigue resistance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
