PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic flow control valve for selectively preventing fuel from flowing into fuel injectors. SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine includes a high pressure feed line and the plurality of fuel injectors fluid-connected to the high pressure feed line and each operable to inject fuel into the internal combustion engine. The internal combustion engine also includes an electronic controlled flow preventers arranged between the high pressure feed line and each of the fuel injectors. Each of the flow preventers includes an actuator operable to move a valve member toward a closing position where the flow preventer prevents the flow of the fuel into the individual fuel injector.
