PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outrigger device for a movable carriage, in which operation to set an overhang lever in an overhang state and a contained state is easy, in simple structure and at low cost. SOLUTION: In this outrigger device 7, a tip of the overhang lever 71 overhanging from a chassis 3 outward is grounded to stabilize the movable carriage 1. The outrigger device 7 is provided with a bracket 73 having a support shaft 76 rotatably journalling an overhang lever base member 72 fixed to a base end part of the overhang lever 71, and fixed to the chassis 3, a guide 74 rotatably journalled to the bracket 73 to slide to get in contact with the overhang lever base member 72, a lever 75 rotatable with the guide 74, and an elastic member SP locked to the lever 75 at one end, and locked to the bracket 73 at the other end to set the guide 74 in pressure contact with the overhang lever base member 72. The overhang lever base member 72 has a cut 72a with which an engagement part 74a formed on the guide 74 is engaged when the overhang lever 71 is contained into the chassis 3.
