A strip for tying articles comprises a plastics ribbon 12 formed with one or more channels 18, in each of which a wire 16 is disposed, and a paper ribbon 14. The ribbon 12 is preferably of polyvinyl chloride and the wire and paper ribbon are pre-coated with an adhesive containing a vinyl resin so that the wire and ribbons may be bonded together by heat and pressure. The ribbon 14 is preferably of extensible longfibre paper, and may be printed on its flat outer surface. |
