<p>A door closer 10 includes a first part 11 which in use is received within the thickness of a door 15 to be closed and includes a spring device 40, and a second part 12 which is secured relative to a door jamb 16, and a tension transmission 14 which is anchored to the second part 12, and which extends to an abutment (42) carried by the tension transmission 14. The spring device 40 of the first part 11 acts upon the abutment 42 to draw the first and second parts 11, 12 together to close the door 15. The tension transmission 14 includes a rotatable retaining formation 28 which is retained by the second part 12 to anchor the tension transmission 14. The tension transmission 14 is flexible along at least a portion of its length which extends between the door edge 17 and jamb 16 when the door 15 is open. The retaining formation 28 is rotatable. The flexible part 24 of the tension transmission 14 may thus be rotated to effect adjustment of the length of the tension transmission 14 between the retaining formation 28 and the abutment 42.</p> |
