The device has support cases (6, 7) for receiving infrared type photoelectric transmitting and reception cells, respectively, where the case (7) has an observation window and a ventilating unit. The reception cell has a surface lower than that of stakes but higher than vine shoots. The surface is in the form of a rectangle of area about 22x45 millimeters. The reception cell has a heating resistor at the level of a detection zone.
