1287621 Lubricants ESSO RESEARCH & ENG CO 15 July 1969 [2 Aug 1968] 35582/69 Heading C5F [Also in Division C2] A lubricating composition comprises a major proportion by weight of a lubricant medium and a minor proportion by weight of an unsaturated dithiophosphate compound having one of the following Formulae I, II or III wherein R<SP>1111</SP> is an unsubstituted or substituted hydrocarbyl group of up to 30 carbon atoms, R 1 , R 2 , R 3 , R 4 and R 5 which may be the same or different are H, Cl, CN, C 1 -C 3 acyl, C 2 -C 6 carbalkoxy, C 1 -C 3 alkylmercapto, or an unsubstituted or substituted hydrocarbyl group of up to 16 carbon atoms and Q is a metal atom or a moiety containing a basic nitrogen atom wherein R<SP>111</SP> and R<SP>1111</SP> are the same or different and are as defined above for R<SP>1111</SP> and R 1 , R 2 , R 3 , R 4 and R 6 are as defined above; or wherein R 3 , R 4 and R 5 are as defined above and Z is a hydrocarbylene group containing up to 8 carbon atoms. |
