<p>A bending machine having a punch and die for bending plate-like work; a pressing means for pressing the work between the punch and the die by vertically moving a ram; an input means (23) for inputting information on the punch and die, information on the material of the work, and information on bending of the work; database (25) where data on pressing force, per unit length, required to bend the work are stored; a calculation means (29) for calculating pressing force needed for the pressing means, the calculation being based on each piece of information inputted from the input means (23) and on the data of pressing force stored in the database (25); and a control means (31) for controlling the pressing means based on the result of the calculation by the calculation means (29).</p> |
