<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new article detector in which the detection of a new article or not is easily and reliably performed with a simple configuration and at low cost, and a high-quality recording image is formed at high speed by preventing the degradation in quality and the like due to use of an imitation etc., and by preventing the pollution of outer environment and the like due to contamination and rejection and the like and to provide a unit including the new article detector, and an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The new article detector comprises a thin film elastic body 1 which is encapsulated by an elastic body of a thin film, a thin film elastic body holding means 2 which holds the thin film elastic body 1 in a prescribed position, an encapsulated object 3 which is encapsulated by the thin film elastic body held in the prescribed position by the thin film elastic body holding means 2, an encapsulated object detecting means 4 which detects the encapsulated object, and an impact applying means 5 which applies impact to the thin film elastic body 1 encapsulating the encapsulated object. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
