PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a servo signal writing device in which servo signals corresponding to the specified number of tracks are appropriately written onto a recording disk. SOLUTION: A distance between an innermost circumference and an outermost circumference of a recording region of a recording disk 10 controlled by a head retracting section 20 and a stopper 25 is detected by using an optical head 45 and a control circuit 47 or the like. The control circuit 47 writes the servo signals onto the recording disk 10 with a track pitch which is determined by dividing the distance by the specified number of tracks.
