PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the stroke characteristics variable engine that can realize the sufficient vibration reduction with high degree of freedom of the link design but without enlarging an engine size. SOLUTION: In the stroke characteristic variable engine having the first link 4 that is connected to a piston 3, the second link 5 that connects to the first link and a crank shaft 6 and the third link 12 that one end is connected to the first link or the second link and another end is supported to the engine body (crank case 7) as movable, it shall have a vibration reduction unit 21 to reduce the vibration resulting from the oscillating movement of the above link.
