PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air suction type screw driver which is portable and can be easily used. SOLUTION: The screw driver comprises a driver bit 22 having an air hole 14 penetrating the axis of the driver bit 22 over its whole length and a tip 20 on its tip end portion to engage with a recessed groove provided on the head of a screw 16, a chuck 24 for detachably attaching the base end portion of the driver bit 22, and an air suction means 28 which is integratedly connected to the chuck 24 and sucks air via the air passage 26 communicated with the air hole 14. The air suction means 28 comprises a vacuum pump 30 for carrying out the suction of air, a motor 32 for driving the vacuum pump, and a battery for operating the motor. An air-tight holding member 36, which is a cylindrical element made of a flexible material, and comes into contact with the head portion 18 of the screw at its end face, is provided around the tip end portion of the driver bit 22. An another air-tight holding member 34, which is a cylindrical element made of a flexible material, and comes into contact with the air suction means at its end face, is provided around the base end portion of the driver bit.
