PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pest control composition having excellent efficiency for pest control. SOLUTION: This pest control composition is characterized by containing (1) a pyrimidine compound represented by formula (I) (R<SP>1</SP>is H or the like; R<SP>2</SP>is a 3 to 7C alkynyloxy; R<SP>3</SP>is H or the like; X<SP>1</SP>is a 4 to 7C polymethine or the like) or a 1,2,4-thiadiazole compound represented by formula (II) and (2) (S)-α-cyano-3-phenoxybenzyl (S)-2-(4-chlorophenyl)-3-methylbutyrate as active ingredients.
