PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve performance of a commercial Web site during a high traffic period by a method with successful cost performance. SOLUTION: The method concerning the present invention relates to a method for alleviating a load at a peak of usage of an online system. The current level of usage of the system is monitored to judge weather or not the current level of usage is above a threshold level. When the level of usage is above the threshold level, the method is realized by providing an offer including an incentive to use the system during a future off-peak hours to the current user.
