<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical information recording and reproducing apparatus capable of suppressing an increase of errors of a DPP signal and an LPS signal due to adjustment by a spherical aberration generating means. <P>SOLUTION: The optical information recording and reproducing apparatus is equipped with a diffraction grating 102 which splits luminous flux from a semiconductor laser 101 into three pieces of luminous flux of 0th and ±1st orders, an objective 112 which converges the pieces of luminous flux split by the diffraction grating on an optical disk 101, a spherical aberration generating means 111 of generating spherical aberration in the pieces of luminous flux, a 1st adjusting means of adjusting the spherical aberration generation quantity of the spherical aberration generating means, and an arithmetic means of computing a DPP signal and an LPS signal based upon the output signal of a photodetector 3. After the 1st adjusting means adjusts the spherical aberration generation quantity, the arithmetic means adjusts gains K1 and K2 for setting the DPP signal or LPS signal to an optimum value when the DPP signal or LPS signal is computed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
