PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup system capable of appropriately taking in a various kinds of pieces of related information from the outside and recording the related information in accordance with photographing of an image pickup device. SOLUTION: When a mode dial 150 is set to a still picture photographing mode and a release switch 22 is fully depressed, a digital camera 10 performs a still picture photographing operation. On the other hand, when a sound reproducing device 48 receives notification that the release switch 22 is fully depressed, the sound reproducing device 48 reads selected sound data from a storage device 54 and transmits the selected sound data to a CPU 112.
