PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine control system capable of suppressing man-hour of development to the small extent when changing, for example, one device to be controlled among devices to be controlled with respect to engine control into a different version. SOLUTION: A common rail type fuel injection device 1 is controlled by a main ECU 91 and an ECU 92 for controlling injection. The main ECU 91 calculates an operation demand value being a basic value for controlling injection. The ECU 92 for controlling injection can control the common rail type fuel injection device 1 autonomously by loading an independent computer and compensates the operation demand value calculated by the main ECU 91 to control the common rail type fuel injection device 1 directly. Consequently, when changing the common rail type fuel injection device 1 into a different version, it is enough to replace it with a new common rail type injection device 1 and replace the ECU 92 for controlling injection with a new ECU 92 for controlling injection to suppress man-hour of development to the small extent.
