<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition coil device in which an ignition performance becomes equivalent or more than 1 as compared with a conventional ignition coil device even when the inner diameter of a plug hole becomes thin. <P>SOLUTION: The ignition coil device 1 has an ignition coil body 4 mounted in the plug hole 2 provided in a head cover 3 and connected at one end to the ignition plug. The ignition coil body 4 has a housing 5; a center core 6 provided in the housing 5; a primary coil 7 provided in the periphery of the center core 6 in which a primary current flows intermittently at ignition timing; a secondary coil 8 provided in the periphery of the center core 6 in which a secondary voltage is generated intermittently at the primary current; and a sheathing core body 10 which is formed in the outer periphery of the housing 5 in which a plurality of sheathing cores 9 which form a magnetic circuit with the center core 6 are superposed radially.
