摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent worsening of exhaust property when restarting an engine and reduce and eliminate NOx stored by NOx storage reduction catalyst efficiently. <P>SOLUTION: NOx storage reduction catalyst 17 is arranged in an exhaust pipe 15 of the engine 1 of a hybrid vehicle 100 to store NOx in exhaust gas when operating the engine 1 by lean air-fuel ratio. An electronic control unit (ECU) 30 of the engine 1 performs automatic start and stop operation for stopping the engine 1 when the vehicle stops and charging amount of a battery 9 is large and restarting the engine when starting running of the vehicle and reducing charging amount and increases a fuel injection amount increase value for the engine when restarting when NOx storage amount of NOx storage reduction catalyst is large.
