PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize considerable reduction of the cost together with reduction of the material cost by automating an affixing work of a wheel protective film. SOLUTION: A protective film 1 having the width and the length not less than the diameter of a wheel W and an adhesive 12 on a back side thereof can be obtained by feeding a roll 10, and being irradiated with laser beams B in a predetermined pattern by a laser beam irradiation machine 2, and cut. The protective film 1 is sucked, maintained and conveyed by a robot 5, and the back side of the protective film is abutted on a face of the wheel W and affixed thereto to cover and protect the face of the wheel W.
