<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pointing device that enables an accurate pressing operation in a position desired by a user even if the finger that presses and operates an operation plate is on an operation area end. <P>SOLUTION: On an upper surface of the operation plate 3, a projection 4 is formed in a frame shape along an inner perimeter of an opening 2a formed in a body 2. Thereby, an operation area B is delimitted on the upper surface of the operation plate 3.
