IMAGE CHARACTER STRING RETRIEVAL APPARATUS AND ITS PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image character string retrieval apparatus capable of explicitly displaying a predetermined character string by retrieving the predetermined character string consisting of at least one character from images; and to provide its program.

SOLUTION: The image character string retrieval apparatus involves: executing character recognition processing by means of a character recognition means 81 to an image inputted from an image input means 1 and stored on a first storage means 4; storing many character candidates including the candidate character of a recognition result and position information on the candidate character on a second storage means 5; retrieving a character candidate including the character candidate corresponding to the character in the predetermined character string inputted from a character input means 2 by a user from the many character candidates by means of a retrieval means 82 for storage on a fourth storage means 7; preparing a retrieval result image specified on the picture storing the character candidate of the retrieval result on the first storage means 4 in accordance with position information on the character candidate of the retrieval result by means of a retrieval result picture preparation means 83; and displaying the retrieval result image as well as the image stored on the first storage means 4 on a display means 3.
