摘要 1,134,539. Load handling appliances on overhead apparatus. CONGO Inc. 13 Nov., 1967 [14 Nov., 1966], No. 51552/67. Heading B8H. [Also in Division F2] A shuttle fork mechanism for use with stacker and like cranes comprises a frame 10 with a pair of load supports, one of which is shown at 11, which can be moved to different elevations by the crane (not shown). A load support, similar to support 11 is located to the right, as seen in Fig. 1, but is a duplicate of that illustrated and is not shown. A central plate 12 mounts a power unit for operating the fork mechanism. Front and rear plates 16, 17 interconnected by side plates 18, 19 which define a base section for the support 11 are connected to the plate 12. The load support 11 includes a top section 20 and an intermediate section 21. The intermediate section 21 has two beams 31, 32 with grooves 45, 46 and 47, 48 respectively. The intermediate section 21 runs on rollers 50, 51 attached to the base section, while the top section 20 has rollers 52, 53 attached to it and running in the grooves 46, 48. A first chain 60 is connected at one end to the base-plate 17, passes round a sheave 63 supported on the intermediate section 21 and is attached at its other end to the top section 20 at 62. A second chain 70 is connected at an end 71 to the baseplate 16, passes round a sheave 73 on the intermediate section 21 and is attached at 72 to the top section 20. The power unit moves the intermediate section 21 through gears 88, 91 one of which at least is always in mesh with a rack 95 fixed to the intermediate section 21, the top section 21 being moved through the chains 60, 70 at twice the rate of the intermediate section 21. The top section 20, with the intermediate section 21 can be extended in either direction, respectively projecting beyond the base and intermediate sections (Fig. 6).
