<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing device 1 reduced in numbers of components and processes for assembling work without the need for mounting a plate spring as another component between a metal ring 2 and an installation counter member 11 such as a clutch plate. <P>SOLUTION: The sealing device 1 comprises the metal ring 2 and a seal part 3 such as a packing supported by the metal ring 2. The metal ring 2 has a close contact portion 4 in close contact with the installation counter member 11. On the close contact portion 4 of the metal ring 2, a pawl close contact portion 6 is integrally formed in a pawl shape for giving a spring force to the installation counter member 11.
