PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide artificial turf which prevents its pile thread from being finely fragmented and cut, is excellent in durability, and excellent in productivity, and to provide a joining thread which forms piles of the artificial turf or a sheet of sufficient strength, and is excellent in mechanical strength. SOLUTION: The joining thread is formed of a plurality of small-diameter filament bodies laterally arranged side by side, and joining films joining the small-diameter filament bodies to each other. Each joining film has a thickness (a) that falls 0.05 to 0.7 times a maximum width (c) of the small-diameter filament body in a thickness direction, and has a width (b) that falls 0.05 to 1.0 times the maximum width (c) of the same.
