The method involves determining turnaround and degree of turnaround of an existing section of a road on the basis of instantaneous direction of road and/or an instantaneous direction of travel of a vehicle. A large number of high lighting direction symbols are indicated when a major turnaround is determined, and on determining a slight turnaround a corresponding symbol with change of degree is indicated. An independent claim is also included for a device for performing the method of representing navigation details in a vehicle.
