4-Aminopicolinic acids of formula (I) wherein Y represents -CF2(C1-C3 alkyl); and W represents -NO2,-N3, -NR1R2, -N=CR3R4 or -NHN=CR3R4 having (1,1- difluoroalkyl) substituents in the 6-position and their amine and acid derivatives are potent herbicides demonstrating a broad spectrum of weed control.
