PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new size-adjusting mechanism of a head band to be attached to a helmet. SOLUTION: The head band 1 having a strip shape and attached to the inside of a helmet has a buckle 3 at an end of the band body 2 and an insertion piece 4 at the other end, and the size is adjusted by changing the engaging position of the insertion piece 4. Sawtooth fastening claws directing downward and forced downward by elastic force are placed in the buckle and sawtooth receiving claws 10 directing upward and engaging with the fastening claws are formed on the surface of the insertion piece 4. The whole band body 2 excluding the back plate 8 of the buckle and including a box-shaped buckle body 5 formed as a recess is integrally molded with a soft synthetic resin material such as soft polyethylene resin. A buckle back plate molded with a synthetic resin material is attached to the open face of the buckle body 5 and the fastening claw is formed on the buckle back plate.
