PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably set the effective time of device information of communication equipment. SOLUTION: When a camera 101 is shifted to a sleep mode, a refresh command including information indicating that the effective time of UPnP information is longer than time set before the shift to the sleep mode (e.g. 5 min. is changed to 1 hour) is issued (step S206). After releasing the sleep mode, a refresh command including information indicating the original effective time (e.g. 5 min.) is issued and the effective time is returned to the value set before the shift to the sleep mode (step S214).
