PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screw capper which causes irrotational claw 24 to engage with a flange 4b of a container 4 to enable a stable delivery of the container 4, and has a simpler structure. SOLUTION: The screw capper comprises capping heads 26 mounted on a rotor 18, a center guide 20 which transfer containers 4 in a state of suspendsion, and the irrotational claw 24 mounted on the center guide 20. A capping head 26 puts its weight on a container 4 supplied from a supply wheel 6 to engage the claw 24 with the flange 4b and caps the container 4. A plate 8 is provided to support the bottom of the container 4 when it is transferred by the supply wheel 6, and a bridge plate 34 is arranged at the downstream side on the plate 8, where the bridge plate 34 is spring biased by a spring 40 so as to reach the same level as the plate 8 when the bridge plate 34 moves up. As the container 4 is transferred on the bridge plate 34, the capping head 26 puts its weight on the container 4 to engage the claw 24 with the flange 4b. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
