PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mass spectrometer capable of controlling degree of progress of electric charge reduction owing to ion/ion reaction and allowing efficient ion/ion reaction in a high dynamic range easily. SOLUTION: In this mass spectrometer with a first ion source for generating sample ions by ionizing a sample to be measured, a second ion source for generating reactant ions having opposite polarity to the sample ions and a mass spectroscope, the second ion source is arranged between the first ion source and the mass spectroscope apart from an axis of sample ion flow emitted from the first ion source and, furthermore, emits reactant ions to the sample ion flow emitted from the first ion source. With a simple constitution, a mass peak originating in a multiply-charged ion of a biopolymer can be simplified and mass spectrum analysis can be made easy. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
