PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip separation device recovering chips in a cutting fluid by efficiently collecting them. SOLUTION: The chips in the cutting fluid stored in a storage tank 2 are successively attracted to a magnet sheet 15 on the outer peripheral face of a magnet drum 11 with rotation of the magnet drum 11. The chips attracted to the magnet sheet 15 are scraped off with the tip edge of a separation plate 32 of a separator 31. The cutting fluid is sprayed from a spraying nozzle 41 toward a part where the chips are scraped off with the separation plate 32. The chips recovered by the separation plate 32 are washed away with the cutting fluid. The chips are prevented from accumulating to the tip edge of the separation plate 32. The chips are prevented from falling out from both side plates 33 on both sides of the separator 31. The chips are recovered without diluting the cutting fluid stored in the storage tank 2.
