<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably rotate a rotator by securely positioning the rotator to the apparatus body with simple configuration, thereby preventing movement of the rotator. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming unit 50, or a rotator holding device for holding a photoreceptor drum 30 which is the rotator, can be drawn or stored into the apparatus body 2 of a printer 1 in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction of the photoreceptor drum 30. The photoreceptor drum 30 includes a cylinder 31, two end walls 32 and 33 of the cylinder, and a support shaft 34. A coupling 35 is provided for the end wall 32 that engages with the drive mechanism 70 of the printer 1. The support shaft 34 is disposed on the axial line of the photoreceptor drum 30 so as to freely rotate and is movable in the axial direction. When the image forming unit 50 is accommodated into the printer 1 and the drive mechanism 70 engages with the coupling 35, the support shaft 34 moves towards the end wall 33, juts out from the photoreceptor drum 30 and is inserted into a support hole 14 made in the apparatus body 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
