PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a shield layer to be simply grounded at an arbitrary position of a coaxial cable. SOLUTION: A contact 6 for a coaxial cable formed of a conductive material is fitted in a certain range along the axial direction of a coaxial cable 1 comprising an inner conductor 2, an inner insulator 3 surrounding the circumference of the inner conductor 2, an outer conductor 4 surrounding the circumference of the inner insulator 3 and an outer insulator 5 surrounding the circumference of the outer conductor 4. The contact 6 for a coaxial cable is provided with: a cable contacting plate 7 having an inside surface having substantially the same shape as that of at least a part of the peripheral surface of the outer insulator 5; and projections 8 projecting inward from the inside surface of the cable contacting plate 7 so as to have projecting ends; each projection 8 pierces the outer insulator 5 and contacts the outer conductor 4 without piercing the inner insulator 3; and the cable contacting plate 7 is electrically jointed to a ground electrode 12 on a surface of a board 11 by solder 16.
