PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head device capable of suppressing unnecessary resonance and sufficiently dealing with the high speed and the high band of tracking servo, and a tape driving device equipped with the same. SOLUTION: The magnetic head device is provided with a head chip 22 having a plurality of magnetic head elements arrayed in a track width direction in a front part (tape sliding surface), a carrier 24 for supporting the head chip 22, a fine-moving actuator 23 for slightly moving the head chip 22 in the track width direction, and a flexible wiring board 25 drawn from the backside of the head chip 22 to transfer an electric signal between a magnetic head element and a control board 27. A plurality of through-holes 41 are disposed to reduce the twist rigidity of a first bent surface 25A equivalent to the twist changed part of the flexible wiring board 25. Thus, the twist deformation of the flexible wiring board 25 of the first bent surface 25A is facilitated to suppress the unnecessary resonance of the head chip 22. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
