The vapour extraction hood (1) has a screen (2) with a chimney (4) above it, and an electrical appliance housed in the chimney. The electrical appliance is hinge-mounted on the screen, and the chimney serves as a support for the electrical appliance. The mounting of the electrical appliance is effected by the engagement at least one retaining arm fastened to the screen in a recess on the electrical appliance which has a larger dimension than the retaining arm in the engagement region. An independent claim is included for a housing for a vapour extraction hood.
