<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for manufacturing granular crystals of high quality excellent in mass productivity and low-cost productivity and a photoelectric converter excellent in photoelectric conversion efficiency, which is fabricated using granular silicon crystals manufactured by the same. <P>SOLUTION: In an apparatus for manufacturing granular crystals, where a melt 4 of a crystal material such as silicon is discharged to be granulated from a nozzle 5 of a crucible 1 and the granular melt 8 is cooled and solidified during falling to give granular crystals, the crucible 1 and the nozzle 5 are integrally formed by a silicon carbide sintered compact without using a metal additive, by which elution of metal impurities which deteriorates the quality of crystals is suppressed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
