PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To guarantee the output of a reset signal at the beginning of supplying power, and to prevent erroneous resetting due to noise which occurs after the supply voltage is stabilized. SOLUTION: The reset circuit contains the main body of the circuit which outputs a signal to instruct the circuit to perform the resetting operation until the supply voltage reaches a sufficient level, and then to cancel the resetting operation when the supply voltage reaches the sufficient level at the beginning of supplying the supply voltage; and a delay circuit which outputs a signal delayed in the start of instruction to cancel the resetting operation in the output signal of the main body of the reset circuit in consideration of a case that the supply voltage rises rapidly. It is preferred that the reset circuit contains an instantaneous reset instruction elimination circuit which eliminates an instantaneous signal change when the output signal of the main body of the reset circuit instantaneously instructs the resetting operation. When the reset circuit contains both the delay circuit and the instantaneous reset instruction elimination circuit, a selection circuit for selecting either of the output signals is installed.
