PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently ensure the planarity of a print paper P at a printing unit 4 without any suction device or with a small suction device in an inkjet printer using the print paper P curled by the curling habit. SOLUTION: One end of the print paper P is held by a holding member (a conveying roller 75), a portion in a vicinity of one end of the print paper P is held by roller pairs 41, the roller pairs 41 are moved to a drive roller 41a side in the direction opposite to the roller pairs 41 so that the print paper P is wound around a driven roller 41b of the roller pairs 41 in a condition bent opposite to the curl, and the tension is applied to the print paper P, and the curl of the print paper P is straightened by moving the portion held by the roller pairs 41 in the print paper P from the portion in a vicinity of one end to the other end side as the roller pairs 41 are moved.
