PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suspended installation base for an air conditioner capable of improving the strength of a connecting portion of a ceiling frame and a hanging frame. SOLUTION: This suspended installation base for the air conditioner has a pair of ceiling frames mounted on a ceiling portion and a pair of U-shaped hangers 20 mounted over the pair of ceiling frames. The ceiling frames 10 are respectively composed of a ceiling mounting piece portion 11 along the ceiling portion, and a frame mounting piece portion 12 connected from one end of the ceiling mounting piece portion 11 toward a lower portion, and has a hollow structure comprising a plurality of hollow portions 14a, 14b, 16 longitudinally extending over the whole length inside from a boundary portion of the frame mounting piece portion 12 and the ceiling mounting piece portion 11 to the frame mounting piece portion 12.
