<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blade contact having a structure suitable for a base connector adapted to reduction of height. <P>SOLUTION: Since the blade contact 3, against a base connector 1 in which a recess 11 is formed with an opposed pair of first side walls 12a, 12b and a second side wall 12c orthogonal to the pair of first side walls 12a, 12c, has a structure that is inserted and fitted toward the recess 11 from the second side wall 12c and that a contact connecting part 31 to be connected with a mating contact is contacted with the bottom face of the recess 11, without a necessity that the blade contact is pressed from the bottom face of the base and the posture of the blade contact is retained as a conventional one, the posture of the blade contact 3 can be retained by the bottom face of the recess 11 and the second side wall 12c.
