PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner composition suitably usable for dry-powder electrophoretic display. SOLUTION: The dry toner composition contains a set of first toner particles 24 including emulsion/aggregation particles having a negative charge and a coloring agent and a set of second toner particles 26 including emulsion/aggregation particles and a coloring agent and varying from the set of the first toner particles 24. The set of the second toner particles 26 is applied with a surface coating on the surface of the particles and a positive charge characteristic is imparted to the surface of the second toner particles by the surface coating. The surface coating exists preferably at about 1 to about 10 wt.%, more preferably at about 3 to about 7 wt.% with respect to the weight of the second toner particles.
