Provided are a prepaid card charging system and a prepaid card charging method. A card management system installed in a prepaid card company generates automatic charging information based on prepaid card information of a prepaid card holder and charging money settlement information including charging request money and transmits the generated automatic charging information to a card terminal. The card terminal stores the received automatic charging information in its own storing unit , searches the storing unit based on card information read from a recognized prepaid card, and confirms wether the storing unit includes the automatic charging information corresponding to the recognized prepaid card. If it is confirmed that the storing unit includes automatic charging information corresponding to the recognized prepaid card, the card terminal charges the charging request money included in the automatic charging information in the recognized prepaid card, generates automatic charging particulars information including charged money and prepaid card information to be charged, and transmits the generated automatic charging particulars information to the card management system. |
