PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radial tire which improves the performance against hydro-planing without worsening outdoor sound, which does not reduce the travel performance on a wet road surface when the groove-widths of main grooves or lateral grooves are narrowed to reduce the outdoor sound, and ink which reduction in the outdoor sound can be compatible with the improvement of the travel performance on the wet road surface. SOLUTION: This radial tire has plural main grooves 1 extending on the tread part in the tire-circumferential direction, and lateral grooves 2 crossing the main grooves 1, and is provided with a tread pattern containing notch grooves 5 which extend from buttress parts 4 on the outer side of the tire to the inner side of the shoulder parts 3 in the shoulder parts 3 outside the outermost main groove 1, and which terminate in closed form. In this case, in the over half of notch grooves 5, the length L from the ground contact ends P of the tread up to the closed ends 7 is set to 50 to 90% of the distance from the ground contact ends to the side ends of the outermost main grooves 1. |
