PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which can prevent a particle from agglutinating and pulverizing in a seed polymerization process. SOLUTION: The method for producing a styrene resin particle by the seed polymerization process comprises: satisfying both an equation: 0.46X≤A≤1.22X and an equation: 1.3Y≤A+B≤1.6Y (X≤Y), wherein (A) is the weight of a styrene polymer particle and (B) is that of a styrene monomer and (X) is that of an aqueous medium at the start point of the polymerization and (Y) is that of the water solvent at the end point of the polymerization; and supplying the styrene monomer to satisfy a condition that the styrene monomer has a weight ratio of 45% or less to the total weight of the styrene polymer particle, the suspension-polymerized styrene polymer and the styrene monomer.
