Addition of organic salts to flammable liquids before electrical loading. A method of electrical loading of inflammable organic fluids, in which one or more salts are added to the fluid. The salts have the formula:- (where R is 8-22C hydrocarbyl; R' is H, or a lower alkyl; A is oxygen or an imino group; M is a metal (not Group I); m and n are integers; and x is the valency of M). The amount of salt may be 1-100, preferably 10-50 g./m3. Spec., metal salts (Mg, Ca, Zn, Pb) of bis(polyoxyethylene)dodecylcarboxymethylammonium hydroxide were added to benzene, kerosine, diesel oil, petrol and toluene.
|
