PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface wave generating body having a simple and easy structure and satisfactory assembling property, and exhibiting stable performance by holding and fixing a dielectric plate and a metal plate in parallel to each other with a prescribed space so as to be situated in a prescribed height position within a high frequency heating chamber. SOLUTION: This surface wave generating body is formed of a horizontally provided dielectric plate 6 having a high dielectric constant and a low loss of high frequency; a metal plate 7 arranged in parallel to the dielectric plate 6 under the dielectric plate 6; a plurality of support bodies 10, 10, 10, 10 (four corners) connected to both the dielectric plate 6 and the metal plate 7 so that the setting height of the dielectric plate 6 is held in a prescribed value C (height of food placing surface) when the metal plate 7 and the dielectric plate 6 are housed in a heating chamber; and fastening means 14, 14, 14, 14 (formed of bolts 14a and cap nuts 14b) for fixing the support body 10 to the dielectric plate 6 and the metal plate 7. |
